My Students
As a class we use books and technology to bring us together through the many different genes. We write, we read and we explore! Having my students exposed to new and different stories helps them to gain the expertise they need to be college and career ready.
My students are wonderful learners who come to me from many different backgrounds with many different values.
Something as simple as a book ties us as class. My hope is that through books we can all gain the love of reading that I grew up with. Many of my students do not read at home and have not be exposed to the love of reading by their parents.
My Project
The Westing Game is an exciting novel that I just know my students will enjoy and an inspire them to read more! The students will not only read the story, but apply their critical thinking skills, especially analysis and motive, via handouts and a culminating project (to create a graphic novel version of the novel on the computer).
Donating to this project will enable my students to grow as readers and use their critical thinking skills.
These 40 books will be used for all my classes-more than 170 students-plus, they will last several years
