The students in my classroom come from a variety of backgrounds, but one thing unites them- they have all been identified as gifted learners. Gifted learners experience education in a multitude of ways. My district allows me to teach these students and offer them opportunities to explore areas that interest them the most. By allowing these unique students the time to develop their gifts, they have a higher overall satisfaction with school. These students also learn how to time manage and plan for big outcomes (projects, presentations, etc).
My Project
Every week the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students in our school's broadcasting group, eLeaders, work for 40 minutes a day to script, record, and edit together a 20 minute broadcast that goes out school-wide on Fridays. This broadcast has grown from a staff of two teachers and four students to two teachers and over 20 students. As we walk through the halls on Fridays, we can hear students signing along to our intro musics. Every day we get emails with ideas and requests. We want to be able to fulfill these requests with zeal!
As we add more students, we need more materials to accommodate our growing crew.
We can use more SD cards to contain the footage we film using our cameras. The tripod and stabilizer will help steady the cameras for better footage.
