Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are an inner city, High-5 through eighth grade elementary school in a very high poverty area of a large metropolitan school district. Many students have their first experiences with science during their time with me. One unique aspect to our school is that we serve a large population of Somalians that are new to our country.

The majority of my students are English Language Learners from both East Africa and Latin America.

Our free lunch status is ninety-eight percent or higher. My teaching position is one of a resource or specialist teacher who serves over 650 students throughout the school year. One of my personal joys is teaching these students year after year as they transition through their elementary grade levels.

My Project

We will resolve any issue of slow internet and wifi issue with an Intel i5 PC or above. The technology is not the problem, it is the operating software that slow us down. We have iPads but there is no comparison.

My coaching dream is to enable our team with the wifi to connect, the RAM for the program will load and the confidence that we will keep full operation of our coding program and continue to have the processing power to click on a question or search and idea on the web.

Is that is a lot to ask?

The addition of any Intel i5 or above will take our students out of the lag associated with our Atom netbook slow issue.

My kids need to fly the internet not surf it while they uncover and discover their talents.
