The Way to a Kid's Heart Is Through... Well, TECHNOLOGY!

My students need 6 Kindle Fires so we can implement Blended Learning with technology in the classroom. The students will use the Kindle Fires during stations for research, educational apps, reading Ebooks, and much more!

My Students

I work at a school located in central Florida. At our school, we are departmentalized and I have two classes full. I have a total of 45 students that I work with during the day.

This year, I have a group of well-rounded, sweet, and eager to learn students who are especially driven by technology!

I have students working at all different academic levels in my classroom and even have some students who have just moved here from other countries such as Puerto Rico and are learning English. Overall, they are a group that always wants to know more! They are willing and ready to push themselves to discover and learn as much as they can.

My Project

These Kindle Fires will make such a huge difference in our classroom! Right now, the technology available at our school is very limited. As much as I would love to incorporate technology daily, it is difficult because we have to share the few devices we have with the entire school.

When I am able to bring technology into the classroom, the students' faces light up with excitement!

They get SO excited when they know that I've been able to snag the laptop cart for a day in our classroom. My students are extremely motivated by technology (as most kids are these days) and I can only imagine the enthusiasm they will have when they know that these devices can be at their own fingertips on a DAILY basis.

We will use the devices to incorporate blended learning in our classroom. This is where, rather than sitting there listening to the teacher "lecture" for majority of the time, the students are more actively involved in the learning process. The students are divided into groups where they are learning through practice, discovery, and hands on activities. The teacher is then able to pull small groups as needed to meet each students' independent needs.

Everyday one of the stations would be a technology station using these Kindle Fires. The students will either complete online/digital lessons, read Ebooks, practice skills through educational apps, or even research information on topics that excite and interest them.

Kindle Fires would be a great addition and enhancement in our classroom that would help to increase my students' interest, reach all of my students' needs at all different learning levels, and help them achieve their learning goals this year.
