it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My second grade students are very energetic and hard working. They come to school each day with big smiles on their faces and their laugher is contagious. Some come from homes where food is limited and the food they get here at school is what helps them make it through the day.
Having snacks for my students helps them stay focused, their minds sharp and their energy up so they can continue to be engaged in their learning.
The days can be long for many students and it is hard to stay focused after lunch. The snacks provided keeps their tummies from rumbling and keeps them engaged in their learning.
My students look forward to having a snack each day. When we run out it is harder for them to stay engaged as they are getting hungry and their minds are focused on their tummies and not their work. As they come from low income families it is hard for them to provide snacks for the entire class. This project getting funded would help my "very hungry second graders" feel content and we can work and get through another day.
