My Students

This year I am fortunate to work with 27 incredible and diverse first graders. They come from varying socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds. What they all share in common is a desire to engage in learning using technology. They are truly 21st century learners who have already began to use chrome books using academic applications in math and reading. Unfortunately, our first graders must share their cart with three other classrooms and truly lack the accessibility they need to benefit from these programs.

My Project

These Chromebooks will make a huge impact on my students. They will have daily access to incredible web-based applications that will enhance their daily learning experiences. In addition to using reading and math apps, they will be able to conduct research and create individual and group presentations. They will acquire digital citizenship as they explore the world wide web. They will be able to take real time digital field trips and access information safely. My hope is that these fabulous chrome books will grow my students' typing skills and increase their comfort level with this technology in preparation for standardized testing.
