My students need Fatal Vision Goggles, Toxic Tar Display, Drugs, Alcohol, and Tobacco Bingo, Effects of Smoking, CPR Kit, and other hands-on activities for our class.
Do you remember what it was like to sit in your high school class and listen to your teacher lecture? Wouldn't you love to have learned with hands-on activities? It is my desire to create a learning environment where students truly understand the information being presented.
My class is filled with energetic teenagers who are eager to learn.
Our school is in a low income area with many students receiving free or reduced lunches. Tobacco and alcohol companies spend billions of dollars to attract young people to their product. I would like to give my students the information they need to understand how drugs and alcohol destroy lives. I also want to prepare my students to be effective in an emergency situation.
My Project
It's really easy to explain the effects of drugs and alcohol to students, but difficult to know if they truly understand. The resources I am requesting will allow my students to experience the effects of drugs and alcohol. They will be able to experience the effects of alcohol while wearing the Fatal Vision Goggles and participating in a sobriety test. They will see how tobacco destroys their bodies by viewing the Tar kit. The students will learn how drugs and alcohol cause damage physically and emotionally. They will also learn how to properly administer CPR and help a person who is choking on a foreign object with the simulation dolls.
I am requesting drug, alcohol, and safety items to create an interactive classroom.
The students will learn how drugs and alcohol can ruin their lives and the lives of their family members. They will also learn how to react in an emergency. These resources can help students make the right choice when faced with real life situations.
