This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have an Autistic Support classroom that is new to the school. I work in a Title I high school in Philadelphia. The students that I work with struggle with expressive and receptive language abilities. Visuals are an essential tool to help students with autism understand their environment and express their wants and needs.

I am trying to make my classroom a second home to my students and I focus on creating a safe, fun environment.

This "homey" environment is where we spend most of our day and it is important that we have the supplies that we need. I am thankful for all of your support!

My Project

These books will help my students with improving their vocabulary. Books improve attention span, focus, and concentration level. By reading, my students learn how to solve problems in every aspect of our lives, family, friends, communication, professional life, health, etc.

They can help my students improve their emotional development, help them be more empathetic, and to keep emotional balance.

Reading books will regularly stimulate imagination, accelerates their emotional development and fosters natural curiosity. They give motivation, peace, enthusiasm, and courage to see situations in a positive way. Books give knowledge. They give wings to our imagination, a person who can imagine things will definitely have the power to create them.
