The Tragedy of Medea: Performed With Masks and Movement
Help me give my students the tools to create their own Greek Theater Masks to create the characters of the tragedy of Medea. We will be performing this play as an exploration of Greek Theatre using masks.

My Project
As a class we will read the play Medea by Euripides. We will explore the character relationships, plot and story and compare to present day events and stories. The students will use their knowledge to create a mask representing the character they will play in our production. The masks they create will represent the character they play as an individual and how they function and relate to the rest of the characters. My goals are to help the students learn about Greek Drama and find an appreciation for the foundation it built for modern theatre. This is my students first exposure to Greek Drama.
