This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our school strives to prepare our students for life after high school. Each student is talented, motivated and eager to learn. My class helps students develop life skill such as communication and professionalism. The students in my class need exposure and experience as it relates to real life situations so that they may develop and master those skills. It is my desire to prepare these students so that they have a positive impact in their journey outside of the classroom.

My Project

The realistic play currency that I am requesting will be used to create a work like experience for the students. My students are high school seniors enrolled in a cosmetology program who aspire to work in the beauty industry. I have created a project in which the students will earn "money." Students will be able to earn money while working on assignments in a salon setting.

This program will specifically teach them how to manage themselves as an employee in a salon.

Students will earn money by completing task such as homework, salon duties, class assignments and activities, good grades and much more. As students earn money, they will also learn the responsibility of paying booth rent, paying for their own services, salon related expenses, managing their finances and how to save money. By donating to our project, you will help increase learning and allow students to gain real life experience in an industry they are passionate about!
