My Students

I am a 5th-grade teacher at William Henry Middle School in Dover, Delaware. We have 130 students on our 4 classroom team. Most of the students on our team come from low-income homes within the community. Our students have a variety of interests. We have students who are energetic and fun loving. They like going outside and playing. They enjoy hanging out with their friends at school and they take great pride in being Capital School District Senators.

My Project

My 5th grade students spend the majority of their day behind a desk. When they go to recess, it is their time to get their energy out and develop their social skills, including positive peer interactions. This equipment is vital to the students. At the moment, we have a field, but nothing for the students to do on it. Having the equipment (baseballs, basketballs, soccerballs, and jump ropes will help students get their energy out, so they can go back inside able to focus on their classes afterward. My students will be grateful for any help that can be provided.
