My students need 10 tablets for group work, one for each group. This will help with our in class research as computer time at school is limited, and not all students have smart phones.
Earth Science has become the go-to science class for those students who are looking to meet a graduation requirement or are Special Education students in need of a comfortable general education setting to grow their social and science skills.
As we teach a unique population, we strive to create ways to assess learning that are not traditional "tests." Our students work in groups to complete projects that show what they have learned on a topic and then present it to the class.
My Project
Our diverse classroom means great opportunities to explore as groups and work in teams. Our goal is to have the students learn more about what is going on in the Earth today! Was there an earthquake? Did NASA launch a new satellite? What will the weather be today?
These 10 tablets will allow students to explore the web for research and ideas they can translate to paper and share with the class.
As teams, we will explore the science beyond the textbook.
Additionally, the students will be able to look at what the Earth is doing today in the weather, space and techtonic news.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
