The Earth Science class at Edward Reed High School is a lower level lab science class. This class is populated with curious 10-12th graders who are in search of science credits for graduation or are interested in learning more about the Earth. In this class we DO science. We try and complete a hands-on lab using the Engineering Design Method with each unit. Labs can range from building and erupting volcanoes to building earthquake proof structures and exploring the hardness of rocks using Mohs Hardness Scale. The class contains many Special Education students who are in the general eudcation setting for science, so we are a unique group exploring the Earth.
