My Project

My fourth graders are amazing humans! They are intelligent, curious, and eager to learn. I teach in an urban school with students from a wide range of backgrounds, but they have one HUGE thing in common - they LOVE to read! Whether it be graphic novels, nonfiction, or realistic fiction book series, my students are always excited when we share a new read aloud, add new books to our library, and explore books by unfamiliar authors.

Student ownership in a classroom is crucial for engagement, and one way to do this is to provide lots of high-quality texts that students want to read.

My students love graphic novels, and one popular series we do not have in our library is Cat Kid. My Dog Man fans would love to add this to our collection! We also have several Big Nate fans, and a box set of Big Nate books would be very popular for my fourth graders. We also have a lot of nonfiction fans, and we've picked several titles that many students would rush to read.

These books, and several others, are in high demand and will be devoured by my students. We can't wait to get our hands on these amazing books!
