This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Establishing a classroom library in our functional skills classroom is essential to fostering a love for reading and enhancing literacy skills among our students. Classroom libraries play a key role in providing access to books and promoting literacy; they have the potential to increase student motivation, engagement, and achievement, helping students become critical thinkers and informed citizens. Moreover, classroom libraries can be conduits for positive change, providing all children access to texts that affirm who they are and open possibilities for who they can become. By curating a diverse and engaging selection of books, we can create an inclusive environment that supports our students’ educational journey and personal growth.
