This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My Functional Academic class is compose of 13 students within special education that has multiple disabilities ranging from Autism a developmental disorder, Specific learning disability where students demonstrate a significant discrepancy, which is not the result of some other handicap, between academic achievement and intellectual abilities in one or more of the areas of oral expression, listening comprehension, written expression, basic reading skills, reading comprehension, mathematical calculation, mathematics reasoning, or spelling, Intellectual disability is characterized by below-average intelligence or mental ability and a lack of skills necessary for day-to-day living. People with intellectual disabilities can and do learn new skills, but they learn them more slowly , ADHD and a lot more. My students are doing functional skills which includes Life skills, Functional academic skills, community based learning skills and social skills.
My Project
Our special education class are in need of a wagon to help us transfer our stuff when we get out for our community based Instruction. The kids are having difficulty carrying their books and materials form place to place, that is why we could have this contraption to help them carrying it.
We also would like to ask from your generous hearts to help us get the other materials we need, the magna tiles and the special writing board that we need for sensory integration for our kids with autism disorder.
