Our school is situated within the urban metropolis of Miami in Liberty City, serving students from various cultural and racial backgrounds. As a student assessment coordinator, I am tasked to assess students across all grade levels throughout their high school matriculation. I have the pleasure of working with a dynamic group of learners originating from 10 countries in grades 9 through 12.
Students I interact with possess unlimited capabilities, talents, and strengths that often simply take a stroke of motivation and access to instructional resources.
A large percentage of my students lack the necessary academic resources, specifically in the area of technology, needed for both classroom and statewide assessments. In spite of their access to a plethora of resources, these unique learners continuously put forth a willingness to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge while maintaining their motivation to learn.
My Project
Disposable headphones are a constant necessity when it comes to computer-based testing; however, they can be expensive. Having headphones will allow my students to test freely without the worry of sharing with others for a more hygienic experience. The printer ink, printer paper, sheet protectors, and poster easels will provide a means for communication in multiple formats to ensure students are aware of specific timelines, dates, goals, and standards in the resource area for test preparation. Students will also be able to print their test practice materials, schedules, test tickets, and registration documents as needed.
Your donations will help to improve my students' overall access to computer-based integrated technology applications and statewide assessments while increasing their ability to function independently in their own targeted instruction.
We will use these materials to support our goals of becoming a fully functional test center while maintaining a clean hygienic environment. Upon identifying the essential needs of the test resource room, I believe these materials will definitely enhance its functionality. My students and I truly need your support to make this a reality.
