Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Talk about diverse community. My students represent various ethnic backgrounds coming from different countries, and different learning styles and needs. My students are special because despite what the society perceives them as needs and to be challenged (in language, academic, and social areas); they are the sponge that absorbs learning just like the students I worked with before. They are kids who are excited about life and the world of learning. The only difference is they need something more and different. That's where you come in.
Students I work with are identified as English Language Learners from various ethnic backgrounds; with special needs in grades K-5 in an elementary school in the high needs area of the Bronx.
My Project
All students need a supportive learning environment where they can interact with knowledge so they can grow academically. In a classroom without an Interactive Board, it is hard to create an interactive learning environment. Having just a laptop and a projector have their limits in producing sounds loud enough to share with a whole group. These requested speakers as an addition to our classroom will enhance the learning experience of my students.
My students learn well and enjoy learning through music, videos, listening to books being read and more; in which having speakers will make it possible.
