This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In today’s demanding academic environment, students need a dedicated space to manage stress and recharge. A calming space in schools can offer students a much-needed break from daily pressures, benefiting both their emotional and academic well-being.
This space could include a turf green grass carpet to create a grounding, outdoor-like feel, an indoor tent for a cozy retreat, and a golf set to provide a quiet, focused activity that promotes relaxation.
Additionally, a flight cockpit chair with a flight simulator program would allow students to virtually explore beautiful landscapes, inspiring creativity and providing a calming escape.
Such a space would help students reduce anxiety, improve focus, and boost mood, enabling them to return to class with greater clarity and motivation. Activities like golf and flight simulation could also enhance cognitive engagement while teaching valuable self-regulation skills.
By providing this sanctuary, schools would foster a culture of well-being, helping students develop healthier coping mechanisms and ultimately improving their academic success and emotional resilience. This investment in students’ mental health is essential for nurturing their growth and future potential.
