My Project

My goal is to give my students a sensory room. I have created several small projects to slowly build a beautiful room. This crash pad is a highly desired piece of equipment. Sensory-seeking students can play, roll, and jump onto the pad to get the sensory input they crave.

Creating a sensory room at school can benefit all students, but especially students with autism, sensory processing disorder, anxiety, and ADHD.

This crash pad is for students to jump and launch themselves onto a safe surface if they desire a firm sensory input. Time in a sensory room helps children improve their visual, auditory, tactile processing, and motor skills. Sensory rooms can provide a sense of calm and comfort. Sensory rooms help children learn to self-regulate their behaviors, which ultimately improves focus.
