Secret Stories is a phonics tool that provides intriguing and engaging explanations for letter sound correspondences.
These "Secret Stories" give reason to why letters make the sounds they do in words. These stories make phonics "rules" more memorable for students, as it is a whole brain-based approach to phonics that incorporates both music and movement.
This whole brain approach to phonics instruction fosters meaningful connections in the brain by tapping into students' emotional systems through the use of stories as well as integrating movement, visuals, sounds, songs and feelings.
The classroom kit, containing posters and flashcards will allow me to successfully implement Secret Stories in my classroom for both whole and small group instruction.
