My Project
These Items will be used to aid in quick and effective phonics instruction. Both Secret Stories and Rime Magic are supplemental resources focusing on phonics skills. Both of these programs support the science of reading which is helping to teach all students to be efficient readers.
These items will not only be used in whole group learning but will also be a great asset in small groups to help below level students reach learning goals.
Secret Stories teaches students letter patterns and the reason for the sounds that they make. This help them to learn to read words verses memorizing words. Secret stories is fun and hands on for the kids reaching all learning styles.
Rime magic help the kids learn to break apart words and read them fluently. My students will learn to start with the base word and then add on. This will make reading less intimidating and more achievable.
Both of these programs can be implemented in less then 5 minutes a day. My classroom is very active. I like to do all of my whole group teaching all together at the carpets. For this reason I need short and effective lessons and both of these programs offer just that.
