My Students

I teach enthusiastic students who are excited to make their marks in the world. Like so many communities across the United States, we have endured economic upheaval and redefinition over the last few decades. Nonetheless, my students are resilient and eager to learn everything they can about writing, literature, rhetoric, and life. They are also eager to do good in our community and in our world.

By giving students constant opportunities to do amazing things, we empower them to change anything and everything.

My Project

What a school year. Just last week a group of students remarked that they don't even remember what a five-day school week feels like. I don't either. With some students on remote and others on hybrid, my weeks feel like they are about thirty days long. It's hard to meet everyone's needs.

I would like to attend "The Science of Teaching" conference and pre-conference put on by Learning & the Brain.

This conference will bring together experts in education and social emotional learning. Not only will I discover new classroom strategies, but I will also learn new techniques for handling the stress of the moment.

Thank you for allowing me this opportunity. My district's professional development money was already pretty meager, but ever since COVID-19 came to town, the only opportunities for teacher learning are self-directed and self-funded.
