This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Each day I project student work on our whiteboard. The students use this to show off their hard work or to ask for help so that everyone can see the paper together. Without a projector screen, the students are left with a blurry and hard-to-see image. My students are great about getting clipboards and moving closer to the screen to solve this problem, however, this is distracting and taking time away from our learning. By donating to this project you will ensure that students have the clear visual that they need to be successful in school. This projector will be used daily to project student work, provide a visual aide, and support brain break activities.
In my classroom I like to ensure that children get hands-on learning, I have ensured this by bringing in materials that students can hold, pop spelling games, spelling cubes, and dry-erase math boards.
However, I have noticed that this has not been the case for science in my classroom, I intend to change that by bringing live caterpillars into the classroom for the students to have on their desks to watch them evolve and eventually help to release them. By donating to this project you will be supporting hands-on science to these students.
