Our students come from a Title-One school that is currently 100% free lunch.

We are considered a community school right on the outskirts of a capital city. Our school has been around for 100 years in the same spot. Each day our school struggles to provide all the materials for each student, classroom and teacher. Our parents would love to help but they are struggling just like our school. This club will be a group of 3rd, 4th and 5th graders that excel in science and need to be challenged outside of the classroom.

My Project

Our students need inquiry kits to help fill our lab! "Sci-Fri" Club is being created because of a desire to expose 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders to some of the wonders of science outside of their everyday classroom experience. The objective will be to spark students interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) by involving them in inquiry based activities. These kits will help us get started. We will also have help from scientists that are in our community who have agreed to help facilitate the activities.

The club will require students to participate in solving problems that encourage original research.

The students will be divided into teams to explore, investigate and discover while developing a scientific way of thinking. In addition to content students will also be exposed to science as a way of thinking and a better understanding of the nature of science. By donating to us you will be helping us to build the minds of our future.
