Help me give my students the support to build a vibrant and dynamic school culture!

My name is John Simmons and I am a fifth grade teacher at Lorton Station Elementary. I am seeking supplies to help supplement after school activities, such as art club, and recreational events. The supplies would go toward allowing children to express their creative minds and physical well-being. Entering my 22nd year, I have a passion for creating opportunities for kids to spend time together, build relationships, and show their individual creativity.
I strongly believe that investing in students by creating a vibrant school culture is the key to improved academic performance, confidence in class, work ethic and school spirit.
More than 35 students were able to express themselves in a way that cannot be expressed in a normal art room setting during school hours. Art Club was a resounding success with more than 60 students and parents can together to celebrate our students art work this past month. The excitement was contagious and I look to continue Art Club throughout my time here and expand the program to other grades. We will be holding Art Club: Session 2, which will focus on beautifying the school and it’s surroundings as well as creating art to brighten up our hallways.
