My Students
I am a National Board Certified Teacher who works at a Title I elementary school.
Many of my students come from military families and their experiences are often brought into the classroom.
More than 50 percent of the students at my school receive free or reduced-priced lunch. My classroom is one that is diverse in learning styles, cultures, and interests. It is the varied backgrounds of my students that evokes wonderful classroom discussions and allows my students to learn from their peers' perspectives respectfully.
My Project
This professional development opportunity will allow me to learn first hand from the latest researchers in the field.
Attending the National Association for Gifted Children convention will help me understand better practices, strategies, and tools so that I can continue to develop and nurture the individual talents and gifts my students have.
This convention will allow me to explore important topics with other teachers in the field of gifted education. This is an amazing opportunity that will keep me informed on best teaching practices. I plan to attend sessions that dig deeper into infusing creativity into my lessons, as well as those that address critical thinking skills, and most importantly sessions that address meeting social and emotional needs of students.
