Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

In the fall, I will have another group of eager little ones (some shy too) that will enter school for the first time. This can be a scary time for them and parents trusting strangers with their babies. In our program, we try to meet every family in their home and get to know them and their child in their space.

When we go to home, there could be a lot of toys, cell phone, tablet or just a TV for the child’s interaction.

By having these backpacks that are filled with alphabet cards, activity calendar for parents, activity ball, bear counters, shape builders, nursery book and crayons to give to students, it could help introduce new skills they would be learning. It could also help with their first impression of us. So, when we meet on the first day at school, there may be fewer tears and fear if they remember that we gave them a backpack full of supplies, made possible by you.

The laminating sheets are for games, flashcards and other study items or materials that would allow students use over and over.
