This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are incredible human beings who show up vibrant and eager to learn every day. They love hearing stories and listening to Read Alouds each day, but they often do not see and hear stories that are representative of how special and unique they are.

I would love for my students to have more access to representative books so they can see how they fit into the world and are able to see themselves in characters they learn about.

When I have stumbled across books that are race or disability inclusive, my students light up and connect to the books in a deeper way. I would love to expand my library to continue showing my students that there are so many people in the world that are just like them, unique and amazing!
