This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are eager to read and explore different genres!
The 6th grade at my school is eager to learn all about ancient Egypt and "The Red Pyramid" book is the perfect text to bring this era to life.
The ELA team at my school would like to order additional books for our students since most of our books are worn and tattered and we have a larger population of students this year. Our students are avid readers and we feel that exposing them to a book that centers around Ancient Egypt, will help them to further comprehend the Egypt units in Social Studies, Science and Art.
Exposing students to different genres will also help support their love of reading, making them life-long readers and learners.
My Project
The 6th grade will be learning about ancient Egypt. They will be learning about this amazing era in their ELA, Social Studies, Art and Science classes. We have learned that cross curricula lessons and units help propel the students further and help students retain and understand the units. These books will help bring the culture to life enabling the students to fully understand life in ancient Egypt.
The culminating project for this exciting unit will be an event in the cafeteria which will celebrate this amazing culture.
We will have food, home-made tools (made in Social Studies), artwork (created by the students) and plays and songs.
