My Project

My students need a class set of the book titled, The California Gold Rush an Interactive History Adventure, by Elizabeth Raum. This set of books takes kids on an adventure through history, where they choose the route they take, make mistakes, learn from them, make more mistakes, and eventually arrive in California to seek their fortune. This is a fun book and a very engaging story to get kids excited about history.

Will we strike it rich?

In this book weach reader will make their own decisions that will determine their fate. Some will get lucky and some will have to start again. The book is filled with primary sources to engage the reader more and to give us a first hand look at life in 1848. After reading this book my class will pan for gold. It will be a perfect way to wrap up the adventure.
