The proof is in the printing (never mind the pudding) and we need toner for our printer to provide that proof. Our Epson printers from DonorsChoose have been fabulous, but they devour toner and we need more to print our work (and submit it to competitions).
I teach a wonderfully talented class of fifth graders in a New York City public school.
Our school is located in the borough of Queens and we have the reputation of being one of the most diverse in the nation. We serve an international community whose diversity enriches us by providing a global perspective.
The students are so motivated and the families of these children have their sights set high. Success is the only way to meet those expectations. In order to guarantee the children's academic success, it is imperative to provide the best resources possible. Students can only achieve if they have the requisite tools to do so. New York City is a tapestry of the international community and our school's demographic represents the best of this diversity. There is a fundamental understanding that education is the vehicle for upward mobility.
My Project
We are requesting toner for our Epson printers so that we can continue to produce student work that can be displayed in color. We have had the benefit of using the printer throughout the year but the message finally came up that we were out of toner. "Replace with Cyan," said the printer readout and alas, we had none. The printer has come to a halt but with this proposal, we hopefully will replenish the empty cartridges and once again see the world in color. The toner packets are by Epson and these days one must purchase the printer manufacturer's brand because of a chip in those toner cartridges that allows the printer to print.
The packages we have placed in our shopping cart will be enough for us to print through June. We have so many projects that need to be displayed and submitted to various competitions that we hope our proposal will be funded.
Today you just can't be without a color printer.
Do you still watch a black and white television? Our world is in color and we'd love our projects to be in color, too. The Epson printer toner will be most helpful in allowing us to keep up our pace of learning. Our projects will appear in color and we'll be able to share what we have achieved with pride. Colorful ideas and graphics need to appear in color. Thank you in advance for your support.
