My goal this year as a Special Ed teacher is to provide my non-verbal students to communicate using visuals. Please help me purchase visual communication on TPT so that my students can communicate effectively. There are many ways I will use visuals for my students to communicate, including having individual visual schedules and picture exchanges. Having these readily accessible at all times and allowing my students to use them during transition, social skills, socio-emotional learning, math, and reading sessions will benefit my students.
Additionally, these visuals will help my students develop their communication skills, whether they are initiating their ideas or requesting their wants and needs.
Last but not least, they will benefit my students by reducing the frustration they experience when they cannot express what they want and need. In this way, I hope to give my students a voice through visuals.
