Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My TK students have limited exposure to stories that captivate their thinking. Many of them are English Language Learners from lower socio-economic families.
I want to instill a love for books through the power of storytelling, using a play-based approach to build their listening, speaking, and retelling skills.
They will experience the power of storytelling as they engage in fingerplays that will target the different modalities of learning, and capture the attention of even the wiggliest of learners. The materials I am requesting will grow and strengthen their love for literacy.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
