I am a Resource Teacher and this is my 6th year in a low income/high poverty Title I school. Special Education is definitely my calling in life. I currently have 38 students' with disabilities ranging from Developmental Delay to Autism.
My mission as a teacher is to provide a positive, safe, engaging, and welcoming learning environment for all of my students!
Each of my students hold true potential and I never let a day go by without them knowing that!
My Project
My students don’t always believe in the power, let alone their power of reading. With the use of daily journals, power pens and various leveled books my students will be able to increase independent thinking/learning and confidence. These materials provide various books to choose from along with differentiated and engaging daily practices that will help my struggling readers become, not only better readers on the outside but, most importantly on the inside! Confidence in their learning is one thing my students don’t always come to me with. However, it is my mission every year, that they leave my room with more confidence, stamina and perseverance to become the best learner they can in and out of my classroom.
