Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students rarely get the opportunity to read books at their present reading levels and discuss it with their peers.
My students attend an at-risk school and are below grade level readers in reading intervention.
They are wonderful students that are receiving the support they need to improve their reading comprehension. Their goal is to successfully graduate from reading intervention.
My Project
This variety of books will allow my students to practice what they have learned in reading intervention and successfully read books at their present reading levels. These books will be used for literature circles and give my students the opportunity to work collaboratively and talk about what they have read.
Supporting this project by providing them with a variety of books supports my students that struggle with reading comprehension.
They benefit from another way to practice their reading skills and will also benefit from having to work collaboratively with their peers.
