I've been teaching first grade for 6 years and I love this group of 1st graders! They are very different than any other class I've had. Their enthusiasm for the day excites me each morning. Even though some of their backgrounds, home lives, and many other aspects are not the best, my students still walk in each day excited and eager to learn and explore! They like to socialize, build, draw, create, and move around.
With the increase in technology such as iPads, tablets and toys, many kids still need interactive play in the classroom.

By incorporating morning tubs into my classroom, it can offer play-based opportunities for students to explore, create, and communicate with each other.
Morning tubs help reduce the length of a morning routine, get students excited about the day, and encourage collaboration in the classroom.
Students can choose from a variety of boxes that are literacy-based, have math connections, help them explore and create, design, practice fine motor skills, play fun games, and build using exciting resources that are age appropriate. These materials range from phonics dominoes, to STEM magnets, to scented markers students can write and create any piece of work they desire. Students will have the opportunity to work together to create, build, imagine, and laugh.
