Help me give my students hands on experiences to see how forces and magnets work, so that they can be able to build cars using magnets, and see the push/pull force magnets have on different objects.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students will be learning about Forces and Motion in our classroom. The items I have chosen would enable them to have hands-on experiences seeing the force of magnets in action. They would be able to build their own vehicles using the magnetic car pieces and then using those same vehicles to see the power of gravity pulling them down as they pick up speed.
Is it magnetic?
Students will be able to experiment using different objects in the magnetic station and discovery boards to see if they are magnetic or not. Having multiple discovery boards will enable students to work together in small inquiry groups to answer this question.
