it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Feeling clean and cared for is incredibly powerful on our self-perception and has a significant impact on positive mental health and reducing symptoms of anxiety. Since COVID-19, I have seen a significant increase in anxiety in my students and often they are coming from limited financial situations. We have families who do not come to school when it rains or is too cold, not only due to fear of illness but also because they have no way to provide enough warm, dry, clothing for 2 days. Having this project funded would really make a difference for my students and their parents/guardians.
Clothing helps us feel protected and secure and something as simple as a clean shirt, pants, socks or even a beanie can change my student's whole day for the better.
