This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are a great group of kids! They are all being serviced in the special education program at my school because they suffer from multiple learning, emotional, and behavioral diagnosis. We are a Title I school. All of our students receive free lunch. Some of my students live in high poverty areas. Some of them are in situations where they lack the basic resources needed. Even with all of their different backgrounds, they are a great group of kids!
My Project
I love how passionate my students are about reading! All of my special education students are always very excited about bringing technology in the classroom. Most of them come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and can’t afford to have iPads or computers at home. My students love reading, listening to stories online, and playing literacy games. Just because they struggle with reading independently, they should not have to suffer. In order to keep them interested in reading, the use of technology in the classroom, especially for my students in particular, is vital. Please help me keep my students interested in reading!
