I am the librarian at the elementary school in our town. What I love about my job is that I get the joy of seeing each and every student in our school, and work with them. Each student gets to come to the library for 45 minutes every week. I also have open library times all day. The joy and excitement they get when reading a new book makes me so happy.
Due to Covid-19 our school has had to cancel any fundraisers that we had scheduled for the school year.
My goal with this would be to get new book shelves, and books for the library. Every student in the school would benefit from this. Coming from a low income community it makes it hard to have extra money to do things like this.
The kids enjoy hearing that I also went to school here when I was their age, and that some of these books where here when I was here. Even though that is a cool story it is also sad to know that is how old some of our books are. Let's make the library new again.
My Project
My library is in need of some new books for my students. Due to what is going on in our world things are a bit different for the schools this year. We usually do a few fundraisers to help with purchasing the books that we need. This year we are not able to have any of those fundraisers so there is very little money in our schools budget, and new library books are not in that budget. Please help me replenish my book shelves with some new material for them.
