This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you know what is Motor Deficiency? If you read the Physical Requirements of Writing Part I, you probably know. But If you have not read it then let me explain some issues we are encountering in our school.
Motor Deficiency is the lack of exercise by a student of the gross and fine motor skills. Some of the signs of motor deficiency are easily corrected with everyday exercises such as playing with play-dough, playing with sand, and cutting for fine motor skills, Jumping, balancing, and skipping for gross motor skills.
As new generations of students are coming to our school, they lack the basic time to exercise because they are now spending a great deal of time in front of the television, computers, Nintendo's, and individual game boys.
I have to gain their attention by engaging them with basic good old-fashion play-dough, art creation, cutting and pasting, and coloring in the classroom.
I want to develop their fine motor skills by obtaining a set of play-dough, play-dough tools, and art materials that will teach them to use their little fingers to improve their writing skills.
