Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Writing has been a struggle for our students the past few years. When they come to fifth grade, they should be able to write strong paragraphs, but their skills have been severally lacking. These journals will hopefully help strengthen our up coming students' paragraph writing abilities and will be a place to keep all our writing together.
The style of the journal is set up so that students can focus on brainstorming Monday, writing a strong topic and concluding sentence on Wednesday, publishing the final paragraph on Thursday and sharing on Friday.
Since we are a 4 day a week school, students will get a chance to share Thursday afternoon if they want to. I am asking for enough journals over two projects to have enough for all the upcoming 5th graders in the 2023 - 2024 school year.
