Help me give my students tools to enhance their use of the technology available to them. They have given IPads however web bases software such as classkick and jamboard require handwriting.
My students are from diverse backgrounds, the majority being African-American. Our school is a Title I school, meaning that the majority of our students are from low-income households or shelters.
Approximately 60% of our students attained a level 2 or below on the NYC state tests.
However, we believe our students, given our student-centered learning approach, can achieve the Regents Level requirements of the New York State. To this end, we could really use all the resources we can get to achieve this goal.
My Project
As the web-based software grows to ensure that students are able to demonstrate their learning, teachers monitor and give feedback, the missing ingredient is a stylus to handwrite, draw, in particular the mathematics classroom.
Many students struggle to use their mouse as a pen and even though some whiteboards have the camera feature, it is of course best to be able to correct your work immediately and maintain a copy from the application as an artifact for later use.
In addition to the necessary safety precautions which means sharing is not acceptable.
