Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The resources will be used to reinforce positive behaviors both in school and in the students' communities. We believe that if students work towards things they desire or enjoy they are more likely to engage and participate. We have included the floor seats and coloring material so we can have a calming corner where the students can color or read. We will also have the motion and sand timers in this area as well. A lot of our students work towards “fun” Fridays where they can choose an activity of their choice, this is where the video games come in, as we have a few who enjoy playing video games. The other items are items they can earn through our point system that was provided by the district. We are an SIP program and work with students who have behavioral and emotional disorders. The items are being used as incentives for attendance, academics, and participation in our point system. Food provides an incentive for participating in the lessons and completing the assignments before the due date. Being able to help them to succeed and accomplish their goals.
