This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a resource teacher at a middle school, and my students are struggling with reading and reading comprehension. This year I had the pleasure of introducing them to Katherine Applegate's The One and Only Ivan. They loved it so much that 2nd semester they requested the next book in the series, The One and Only Bob. So of course, I purchased it.

As the year is coming to an end, and they have found a joy in reading, they have now asked me to buy the next book in the series, The One and Only Ruby.

I LOVE how excited they are to find out more about these characters. The fact that they are asking is AMAZING and makes me feel like all my hard work is paying off.

Please help me to buy them the next book, and allow us to continue the journey of comprehension and fluency engulfed in a story that they truly enjoy. Thank you in advance for all you do to support us as teachers.
