My students are curious learners. They are not from the most affluent schools. They sometimes struggle with the basics of life. Even though they have many obstacles against them, they always are ready to learn.
I teach at a Title I school (low-socioeconomic status) with a diverse student body population.
Our students cover the full spectrum of learners including those that just moved to the United States from countries across the globe. We believe every student will succeed with hard work and dedication! Everyone matters!
I am asking for a class set of novel-The One and Only Ivan. This book will be used across the curriculum to help my students make connections using language arts, science, math, and even financial literacy!
This book will help my students learn compassion and responsibility in order to become better citizens of our world!
They will see many points of view and realize certain decisions can be harmful or beneficial to our community. They will definitely learn to appreciate good fiction while preparing for our state assessment. My students will also use their critical thinking skills to become active problem solvers!
