My students need a Nook Tablet with cover and screen protector for listening/reading books as well as interactive literacy activities.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Staab's classroom raised $337

My Students
I teach a 1st grade and 2nd grade multi-age classroom at an urban school district in Washington. Many students at our school come from low socio-economic backgrounds and need all of the resources they can get at school!
In our classroom, we have one computer for our students to use.
An e-reader such as the Nook would be a helpful resource for students to get exposure to more technology. The Nook is a child-friendly e-reader for listening and reading books as well as other literacy activities that can be downloaded.
Many of my students come from homes without computers. In our society, technology is such a integral part of communication, research, and education. I believe it is important to start educating our students in the primary grades, how to use technology for learning.
My Project
I am requesting a Nook and Nook cover for our classroom. Not only will students be using it to learn how to browse books for research, but students will be able to read stories, listen to stories, and work with interactive reading/writing activities that can be downloaded. The technology that this e-reader will expose students to will also engage students more into reading and get students excited!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read all about this important project.
Please help close the digital gap that continues to widen in our schools. I want my students to be able to research, read, and listen to stories using the technology that many cannot afford at home. We appreciate your help!
