My students need more books at home to read with their families. I would like to provide my students with the book "The Night Before First Grade" to give at Meet the Teacher.

My Students
I teach at a Title I school in Texas where the majority of my students are from low-income households and are not always afforded the same opportunities as others their age. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best.
My students are bright, energetic, and have a love for learning!
They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day. I want them to know I believe in them and they can do anything they set their minds to.
My Project
I want to give my students a book to read with their family on the night before they start their first day in first grade. I hope this book will help all about to be first graders through their own back to school jitters and kick off a year full of reading. I also, want to provide a book that my students can keep with them at all times and start their own library at home to encourage more reading. I hope to instill a love of reading in all my students this school year. I look forward to seeing their faces when they find their book at their seat with a special little note from me!
