Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a first grade teacher in a low income school. I have amazing children who are bright, inquisitive and VERY artistic.
My writing/art center is a big hit everyday because of the students' artistic talents. I have children that write, draw, cut and paste things all the time. They use markers, colored pencils and crayons. Their favorite is when I pull out the watercolor paints. They use the watercolor paints up instantly because the love painting so much.
An addition to my classroom that my artsy students REALLY would love is a painting center. In this proposal I am asking for a three sided easel to paint on. I am also asking for a variety of tempera paints and brushes, vinyl smocks,and non-spill paint pots.
With this paint center, my first grade students will have opportunities everyday to paint on an easel and express themselves artistically. They will be so proud of their accomplishments! So will I!
